Dear colleagues and friends,
We are pleased to invite you to the 9th Workshop of the European Calcium Society (ECS) “Mitochondrial Ca2+ Signaling in Health and Disease”, to be held from 7-9 September 2023 in Padua, Italy.
The venue will be Palazzo Bo, the historical site of the University of Padua (the second oldest university in Italy and one of the oldest in the world).
The workshop will be in memory of Tullio Pozzan, who dedicated his entire career to the study of mitochondrial Ca2+ signaling, and will assemble a group of leading scientists investigating the topic by interdisciplinary approaches.
The programme will cover the latest findings in the field, from the identification of molecules and mechanisms governing mitochondrial Ca2+ dynamics, to the definition of their role in cell physiology and disease, as well as recent technological advancements. Moreover, three short oral communication sessions (selected from submitted abstracts) and two poster sessions will provide ample opportunity for younger researchers to present their data and meet senior scientists, guaranteeing fruitful discussions. The scientific programme will be complemented by exciting social events in an informal atmosphere, such as a guided tour to Palazzo Bo and the gala dinner.
We encourage all of you to join us and we look forward to welcoming all the participants to Padua!
